2BonederfulAgain 17 Posted April 27, 2012 I am pre-op but I have started to buy a lot of new things, mainly stretchy spring and summer dresses. Im a dress kinda girl so I currently am in a 20 or 2x and Ive bought some knew lengths that are a 1x and I actually bought 2 cotton dressed that are a reg xl. They have some stretch in them--according to the average most ppl are saying they dropped sizes in 3 mths time so it will still be wearable at that point. You know in the summer you cant find summer clothes--so Im buying early and cheaply! I hit Walmart up for tank tops they were 4 bucks I bought a whole crap load in a reg XL, they will fit at some point and when i need them they are there. I have decided not to buy pants or really jeans until I can really try them on and say yup these are it so as I have always worn since hitting a 16 and above I have lycra tights in every color and lots of yoga pants. Ny&Co sells stretchy dress pants so I will get a few of those for work they will still look pretty good loose. If you see something at a great price for the season that you will be in when you anticipate the weight loss I say buy it. In 3 months you can expect some change at least a size or 2 if not more so get yourself some capris and dresses...I go with dresses, if they are still short then throw tights under them and use as a long blouse and if they get big but your not the next size then throw a belt around it, thick high waist or thin low waist to give it a different shape! toibunny 12 Posted April 27, 2012 I agree with the bra idea. Might I suggest finding a really good thrift store or Goodwill. I like being able to spend $20 and get two bags of clothes. That way as I chang sizes I don't feel bad about having to let items go. Also my feet went from a wide size 8 to a size 7 ... and my shoes are starting to get floppy
Meljp 36 Posted April 27, 2012 I am 2 months post op and have gone down one size! Was an 18 in jeans and wear 16 now and they are not "stretch". I can really notice the difference in my butt and legs. I also bought 2 pair of 14 from the girl I purchased the jeans from. They are Lane Bryant. I looked at the website and most of the jeans run around $60.00. I got 3 pairs of jeans and a beautiful top for $30.00. Also the jeans are Tall...first time in ages I have had jeans that are truly long enough!! I begged her to keep my phone number and continue to call when she has clothes to sell...Made my day for sure! Blessings~Melanie:)
dominique 34 Posted April 27, 2012 I started out a 22w. I'm 4 months out. I'm now a 16w. For me I have been dropping about a size a month. I started at 236 pounds and am now 191.
favoredone 590 Posted April 27, 2012 I've been dropping sizes every 3-4 weeks.. I was 30/32 pre-op... a snug 28 day of surgery... now I'm in a loose 22/24... My 2nd and 3rd tummies have merged and impede my down progression to a 20 pant size... right now... I got somet things from some friends, shopped clearance at dept stores (scored a pair of CK slacks reg. $109.. I paid $6!!)
kimmy*custis 276 Posted April 27, 2012 At two months out I went from a size 20 to a 14...loving it! I am having a hard time justifying purchasing clothes tho since I am not fitting in them too long. Goodwill has been my friend for sure!
minaleigh 95 Posted April 27, 2012 It took me a while to drop one size. I pretty much skipped over 20s in under a month though. I'm currently about 5 months post-op and down from a 24 to a 16 (according to Old Navy ). I buy shirts from Goodwill or clearance from Wal-Mart and my mom and aunt give me old pairs of their pants that are too big for them. I can't wait until I'm finally smaller than my mom! My mom also gave me some of her old bras because I've gone from a 42DD to a 38C (I'm guessing, because I measured it myself). I need to go get a proper bra fitting done and buy at least two pairs of nice, underwire bras because the ones my mom gave me are just plain and don't really lift up the girls. I'm thinking I'll just buy a size where it's somewhat tight at the loosest band hooks so that way I can keep tightening it as I lose weight.
