Lol good to know. I get hungry at night and I get all my Protein in sometimes before dinner so I was trying to find Snacks that I could eat that will not ruin this journey I am on. I get hungry around 9pm.

It depends on my mood....usually, I don't eat after my bedtime Protein Shake, but tonight, I was snacky, so I had 5 Low Fat Ritz crackers with tuna...I am 2.5 months out, and that fills me up! tuna is a great source of Protein, and a yummy snack. You could also try, clementines, sugar free pudding/jello, ff cottage cheese, string cheese,or yogurt.

I can't eat the dairy because it slows my weight loss down but I love clementines. I've stayed away from dairy and I try to keep my carbs below 25-30. I do snack on the babybel cheese as well. Yum

I can't have any more Protein Shakes though after my last meal. I reach my Protein limit by then. I need some snack ideas that are non protein, non dairy and low carb.

I tend to eat late as I work late, so usually around 8pm. However, I don't get to bed until close to midnight so I do get hungry. What I have is a SF popscicle or fudgecicle. That usually hits the spot. Sometimes though I need something a bit more dense so I'll go with a string cheese stick. Those are really my go to Snacks during the day.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
