kimmy*custis 276 Posted April 26, 2012 Ok, I brought a can of Trader Joe's cuban black Beans to have for lunch...someone stole the can opener! Thanks goodness I had brought some string cheese and a apple too. I ate the apple, in slices, with a bit of Peanut Butter for lunch. It took over an hour to finish it but about 5 minutes after I thought I was going to hurl ( first time by the way since my surgery I have felt like throwing up) I walked it off and felt better after 15 minutes. Maybe it was too much for my sleeve? Anyone else have that happen with an apple? I have had spicy, bbq meat etc and no issues but a apple...really? I have also had apples since surgery ( well only two) and have had no issues, what gives!
Libraldy8 8 Posted April 27, 2012 I'm 4 months almost 5 months out and still can't eat apples. Try peeling the apple may have an easier time getting it down.
Mews 37 Posted April 27, 2012 My NUT says to always peel the apples as the skin can give us some serious discomfort. This goes for a lot of fruits.
kimmy*custis 276 Posted April 27, 2012 Thanks so much, I appreciate your posts. I have never peeled an apple so I didnt even think of that. I will try it next time.
minaleigh 95 Posted April 27, 2012 Apples don't necessarily hurt my stomach, but they sure do give me the gurgles. My university's cafeteria is seriously lacking so the only thing I can really buy for lunch without feeling guilty is an apple. I can't really peel it so I just eat it as is. I've been given strange looks because of how loud apples make my stomach sound.
