kyllfalcon 768 Posted April 26, 2012 You don't say how far out you are. I had trouble sleeping well the first three or four weeks. I'm six weeks out now and am sleeping much better. I always had to get up at least once at night to pee. Sometimes now I have to get up two or three times, probably due to all the fluids. But I go right back to sleep.< /p>

Condessa 3 Posted April 26, 2012 I'm having similar issues, I can't get to sleep at night. I've tried sleeping in different positions, different places and finally after a few hours I've took some pain medication because I know it would knock me out. I don't know how long this will last but I'm already tired of it. I can't even imagine trying to do a vacation right now, but good luck to you and hope you have a great time. If you figure out the secret to getting back on track with sleeping let me know.
ShapeShifter 64 Posted April 26, 2012 Anesthesia can have surprising, lasting effects. I'm sure this is only temporary. I had nasal surgery over a year ago, and had issues with sleep. When I did sleep, I had night terrors. They stopped after a few weeks.
VJSlim 156 Posted April 26, 2012 Wow - I was the total opposite. I was sleeping for nearly 4 hours every afternoon (apart from my almost 10hrs sleep at night). This lasted for nearly 4 weeks post op. Like Shapeshifter said, I think this may just be temporary. BUT, knowing that sleep is very important for recovery, you could try callling your surgeon and ask for something that you can take to help you sleep comfortably. isntsheclever 38 Posted April 26, 2012 I didn't sleep very well the first 1-2 Weeks post op. It was very uncomfortable. I had to take my liquid codeine a time or two just to get some rest. Since then, I sleep like a baby. Before the surgery I was such a light sleeper. I always woke up a few times a night to pee. Now I might wake up once. It's one of the best unexpected side effects, for me.
