I have a lot of pants from size 16 down to 10. I saved all my clothes when I was on my way up the sizes. They are things that never really go out of style because basically I never wear anything that is high style.

I know I want to end up around a size 4 or 6 so I have been hitting the Goodwill and Ebay. It's funny: I have duplicate pairs of pants in a 16, 14, 12, 10, 8 and 6. I'm just getting into 14s now. It's not so bad when you can do it on the cheap. I don't mind used clothes as long as they are in good condition. I give away lots of nice clothing so I certainly shouldn't be weird about it.

I am 5 months out and around 110 pounds down. my clothes are falling off me. i am trying not to buy any new clothes because i am still losing. dont see any reason to buy a new wardrobe when i will need more "new" clothes in another 5 months. i know im going to have alot clothes to give to the thrift store when i get to my goal.

I had to reply to this. There is no way I could wear my size 20s even with belts. I have some extra stomach skin and if I wear something that's just a little too big, it accentuates that pouch and looks just horrible. That's just me. You're mileage may vary ;)

Dresses and tights! I just bought stuff off eBay. Dresses for $10 to $15. eBay has been a life saver. Nothing I used to own is in my closet anymore. I wear a dress everyday! I will wait until I am maintaining the same weight for awhile. Clothes can be expensive.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
