Recommended Posts

I LOVE cottage cheese! Will definitely give it a try when im post op. My surgeon said he is making mine tight

Why is making your's tight. Did you make him mad? They should have a standardized size and all are suppose to be the same.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never really noticed a smell to tell you the truth! For me it is the consistency that is messed up but I still love it! :) It makes my husband gag when he watches me eat it so that is a little fun for me too! ha!ha!

Add some sugar' date=' or blueberries, or blackberries or just salt and peper and it is tolerable.... LOL[/quote']

Add some pudding or Jello to it.i like patashio pudding in mine.

Well I just read about this so I thought I'd try it. I am always worried I can eat too much. Well, I would say mine is average. I ate 6 oz in about 8 min and am stuffed! Like feel yucky cause I'm too stuffed. I know it's supposed to be 5 min due to emptying. So if 5.5 is the average, I'm happy I'm average :) But I can eat more than this depending on what it is. Probably because oatmeal (my daily Breakfast recommended by my NUT) is warm and thinner (than cottage cheese) and starts to empty. But I am just so relieved my sleeve is "normal" :)

If I didn't loathe cottage cheese, I would so try this. I am just so curious about what the functional volume of my sleeve is.

LOL! I was just thinking this....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
