Santana1990 0 Posted April 25, 2012 I am 10 days post op. I am now off of "full liquids" "kinda", im starting to introduce myself to things like baked fish and tuna and boiled eggs. It hurts so bad after swallowing though! Its like really bad chest pain? Has any one else experienced this? Also I know its only been 10 days, but I dont see the weight coming off... Am I doing something wrong? I try to walk EVERY DAY but have a 4 yr old and a set of 6mo old twins, its hard to get out of the house everyday. I am very discouraged because I also don't have the "full" feeling yet. They say that its normal not to feel full on liquids but as soon as I start eating solids I will definately feel the difference, but I can't help to think something is wrong. Also, am I able to cook like i used to cook? Not all fattening and stuff of coarse, but like, with seasoning? Im nervous to season my fish and chicken. Is it ok to? When was it ok for yall to go back to "normal" eating, like with your family? My husband ordered pizza last night. I was going to eat just 1 small piece but I did'nt because I was nervous to. Would that have been ok? Also, "carbonation" like coke, dr pepper, red bulls, are these things I will have to avoid for the rest of my life? Feel free to leave any answers you all have, or any advice. Thanks (:
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted April 25, 2012 Re: Pain: It is quite possible you are A) Eating too fast, B.)Taking too large of a bite, or C) Not chewing your food enough. In the beginning these three things are a must, or you will feel a lot of pain while eating. Try working on these and see if it helps. Keep your bites to about the size of a pea. Put your spoon or fork down between bites, and be sure to chew that food until it's like a liquid. Re: No weight loss: You just had surgery, and this is a long journey. Try being more patient. It will happen. One day at a time. Re: Cooking with Seasoning: I sure do it!! I'm not going to be stuck eating cardboard. If I were, I'd just eat... cardboard. Re: Eating Pizza: IMPO I would wait for as long as you can stand it before trying anything like that. They sleeve our stomach, not our brain. Chances are you can slip very easily back into bad habits - and especially since you haven't started working out yet, that is a very high calorie food and full of fat... preservatives.... just not very nutritionally sound. Your stomach is prime real estate now, fill it with foods your body needs to survive. Wishing you well in your journey!! No one said this was going to be easy! Least of all me.
