Going On Two Months Post Op, Wow!

Recommended Posts

Hi, on the 27th I will be two months post op. I had a stall for about 2 weeks. I upped my caloric intake and the weight started to come off again. I got on the scale today, 190, I am impressed. I love my sleeve, and to God be the glory.

Started at 230 preop. diet, 220-225 prior to surgery, I was fluctuating. I am saying wow, because the smaller you are the slower you use, but I am amazed at the inch loss and weight loss. I revised from the lap-band to the sleeve.

Hi, I am coming up on my one month surgeversary, on the 27th too! And I do so much love my sleeve. It is so much not an issue as I thought it would all be. I had a stall too, ( I need to update my chart too) But now weighing in at 277, down from 314 pre surgery and 294 surgery day. Im not drinking enough, and feel peeked, but getting most the things I need each day, but some times dont get enough Water or Protein or exercise....I still love it all, because it all works inspite of the times I dont.

Hi, I am able to eat some things, I have to be careful with chicken. I drink Vitamin Water dragon fruit, and regular water. Other than that the sleeve is doing its job.

Congrats on your loss!

Ya thanks, When Im not just anxting for some food, though not hungery, I catch myself waiting for a time to eat, and not drinking anything while a am waiting...strange, but aparently I am not used to so much time between meals, and so not having any meals, and just a couple of nibbles a day...Strange. Its a new life, and a lot of my underlying eating issues are starting to let off, since they may not get fed anymore, they are deprived and wandering about looking for another way to get prived, and it may be money, as I seem to be a spend freak since surgery. Oh well, hope it last! Ha Ha.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
