chicagochic 73 Posted April 25, 2012 So my surgeon pushed my surgery back for two weeks due to a personal emergency. New date is May 30th instead of the 16th. I'm a bit down about it but not devastated. It actually works better for my work schedule. I'm just so excited about my decision to have this procedure and resolved that it IS going to happen that I'm just taking everything in stride. It may take a bit longer, but I will get to the other side of this surgery soon enough! Anyone else have any setbacks?
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted April 25, 2012 I have Kaiser insurance and after getting the referral from Kaiser, the surgeon said my BMI was on the borderline and that I couldn't have the procedure. What they had done was make an assumption that I had no comorbities because I wasn't taking any kind of medications for HBP, Diabetes, etc. Well I was diabetic and was taking lisnipril to protect my kidneys but the PA thought that was for HBP. I did reschedule an appointment closer to my surgery date to check on my weight status. I was trying to gain weight but couldn't. Finally, after further discussion with the surgeon, she rechecked and told me I was good to go. Up to the AM of the surgery, I actually believed that they were going to deny the surgery at the last minute. Low and behold, I got my sleeve and I'm totally happy by 150%, Some days I do want to eat a big meal but can't. I'm still adjusting to my new eating regime. Delta_35 129 Posted April 25, 2012 I am scheduled for May 16th, the same day! Even though your date was moved, the good new is it was only pushed back for 2 weeks! Also this means I and others before you can give you a heads up on how our procedure were! So really, its not that bad!! Sometime God works in mysterious ways, and this may be Him working in your favor!
