HadToDoIt40 34 Posted April 24, 2012 I am 3 weeks post op and about 5 days ago I started having severe pain in stomach on the right side. Then backpain on the same side. When I would try to bend over the pain was so bad, it took my breath away. yesterday I became nauseous, was very lethargic and had no appetite. I couldn't sit or stand without pain. It hurt to breath. Yesterday my intake was a half bottle of Water, a half of teaspoon of cream of wheat and 1 tblspoon of tuna. I am able to usually get in all of my Protein and at least 4 bottles of water... anyway. I finally went to the ER last night and got home this morning. ER diagnosis was acute pancreatis. ER doctor says my pancreas appears swollen and "aggravated" and that is very possible it resulted from the VSG surgery. Hopefully, this goes away soon. I am so tired of doing NOTHING! I can't walk or get any type of exercise in during these precious weeks! Oh well, my health comes first. Just thought I would check in....

Best wishes to you. :* Thanks. Small meals (you think?!), No fatty foods, lots of Water and percocet. They wanted to admit me, but I wasn't keeled over in pain and didn't have a high fever so I felt I would be okay at home and promised to follow up with my dr within two days. sabrina4you 17 Posted April 25, 2012 I'm three weeks out and I'm experiencing the same thing. Went to the er on Saturday, they did a cat scan and blood work to rule out any problems with my pancreas. The ER doc said, I have a virus in my lymph nodes and that it just has to run it's course. I just don't believe that because of where the pain is located. I have an appoinment with my bariatric doctor tomorrow, so I'll see what he says. Good Luck to you and hope you feel better soon.

I am set to have an ultrasound and other tests tomorrow as my surgeon said this would be a better way to gauge if it's a gallbladder issue. Still having a time when I breathe and pain in my stomach and back. Shallow breaths.... oh well. Good luck to you too and I hope you feel better soon also. I'll post the outcome of the tests when I have them. 1 sabrina4you reacted to this

HadToDoIt40 34 Posted April 26, 2012 Feeling much better today! Pain is still there a little bit, but nothing like earlier this week. At least I can walk and sit up with no pain now. Yay! Ultrasound is scheduled for this coming Monday. 1 jiggyjen1982@yahoo.com reacted to this

3lilrams 37 Posted April 27, 2012 I had Gallstones and Pancreatits 10 years ago...I was pregnant with my son, and had all of the classic symptoms of gallstones, but my OB insisted that I was fine, despite several U/S, performed by several different techs, who all said it was stones. 3 weeks after my son was born, I vomited green bile 37 times in 1 evening. I went to the ER, and was taken in to surgery the next morning...recovery wasn't bad at all, despite the JP drain. Still, 10 years later, I have phantom pains, but I just rest, and hydrate. Take it serious...pancreatits is nothing to play around with! I hope you get some relief soon! Hugs and Prayers!!!
