NOELEVON 8 Posted April 24, 2012 Hey all, I have my pre op tests this morning and I got a cold yesterday. I can't take anything for it right now because I can only have Water (for the urine sample). The cold shouldn't adversly affect anything should it?
thebionicbroad 127 Posted April 24, 2012 It will only affect the way you feel. Congratulations, and welcome to the Losers' Bench!
NOELEVON 8 Posted April 24, 2012 I'm not quite on the bench just yet. Although I have lost 20 pounds on the liver reduction diet. The tests went fine....except for the pft. That was thee worst. There was one of the 5 that I had to do THREE times before I got it right. Sheesh. And to top it all off, the nurse kept talking to me like she was a cartoon character. NOELEVON 8 Posted April 24, 2012 I don't have a surgery date yet, but I should have one by Thursday. I may call the insurance company tomorrow with my fingers crossed. The pft is a pulmonary function test which tests the strength of your lungs. There are different breathing excersises that are done. Your nose is pinched shut and there's a mouth piece hooked up to the computer and an oxygen tank. The tests are done in what looks like a phone booth. NOELEVON 8 Posted April 24, 2012 Funny you should say blast. She kept saying, "biggest breath you can and then BLAST it out." 1 suzcomptime reacted to this
