I'm so frustrated I've been sticking to my diet surely I'm not stalled already ??? I need some inspiration haha !!

Starting weight -268

Surgery day - 253

Current weight- 245 (for the past four days ugh)

8 lbs, that's more than 1/2 lb a day. 23 lbs in 2 weeks is ridiculously good. Your body is going through alot and it's playing catch up to all the body drama. You will see results again just give it some time.

Remember, most patients come home heavier than the day of surgery from all the IV fluids they pump into you during your stay. I came home 8# heavier than the morning of my surgery. Your body has to lose that weight, while also recovering from the cutting and shock to the system. You're doing great, just try to be patient with yourself!

LOL.... I remember feeling like that also. Your body is adjusting, besides , truly you are doing amazingly well. Look at the big picture, that much weight loss in so little time. You are doing great!

At two weeks I had only lost 17 lbs dont' worry I've been there. I'm now down 97 lbs from 230 and surpassed goal. The weight doesn't fall off like magic it takes time. And the slower the better. I would rather be slow without saggy skin then fast and saggy skin everywhere. Just remember you just started this journey it will come we have all been there. But also remember when was the lasttime you lost 23 lbs in two weeks. Think of it that way.... Good luck and congrats....

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
