Vance_ 217 Posted April 23, 2012 I take two chewable vitafusion 500 mg Calcium (tastes like candy - sugar coated), two chewable Multivitamins (gummies - from CVS Pharmacy), Nature's Bounty 2500 mcg sublingual B-12, 1200 mg fish oil (from CVS) and 10,000 IU Vitamin D chewable gel (from Bariatric Advantage). 1 oneproudpappa reacted to this
Cherrybomb 54 Posted April 23, 2012 I also had my surgery on 4/3 and I hate chewable vitamins! My nutritionist said I have to have chewable for 2 months, but not sure why since I was cleared to take other pills the day after surgery. My surgeon just told me to take all my pre-surgery pills like I had been doing. They even gave them to me in the hospital. I'm not sure why Vitamins can't be pills too. CAsleeve 56 Posted April 23, 2012 So, I had a Vitamin issue. I could not for the life of me keep down the chewable vitamins or the chewable Calcium tabs. So, I switched to gummy vitamins (just the women's Gummy vitatmins from Target) and I swallow the big calcium pills. My doc told me not to do gummy Vitamins and not to swallow the big calcium pills, but my nutritionist said if that is the way i can keep them down, then go ahead. Better to get them in me than bring them back up each time. Gummy vitamins are just like eating a gummy bear - vitamin time is now treat time. :-) 1 Vance_ reacted to this
warrior 9 Posted April 24, 2012 I got Trader Joe's high potency chewables at the recommendation of the nutritionist. They're easy to get down and taste fine. I also bought a mortar and pestle. I grind up all other pills and open all capsules. I dump the powder into a little bit of flavored greek yogurt. It's not at all gritty (surprisingly) It's been a very easy way to get all my Vitamins and antacid meds down the hatch in the morning. Good Luck!

Dooter 1,457 Posted April 24, 2012 Do NOT get the Bariatric Advantage chewable Multi Vitamins if you dislike throwing up! They are awful awful awful. I had to give them away. It's been weeks, and thinking about it right now is making my jaw tingle like I'm gonna yak. Their other swallowable (is that a word??) products are fine though. sublingual B12 and D capsules are fine. Not the big honkin' Calcium chewables though. They're pretty bad too. slatond 20 Posted April 26, 2012 I am pre-surgery and just starting the journey 2 wks ago. But I found optisource Post Bariatric chewable Vitamin @ Walgreens. You do have to take 4/day but they taste good. I searched on the internet and found Celebrate chewable vitamins and ordered the B12 in cherry and was pleased with it as well. I did order the Calcium and the Multivitamin. The Calcium is ok but might try other options after this bottle. I prefer the Optisource vitamin over Celebrate vitamin. kansasgirl 96 Posted April 26, 2012 I have been using the opurity bypass optimized mulitvitamin from unjury.com I only have to take one a day and they taste good i have no problems taking them. You can get 100 pills for 35.95 and they are made with good ingredients. They have an orange berry taste.. and break down easily. i have my surgery on May 3rd so i can't say how they are afterwards but i really like them now.
