Stall ... Plateau ... Whatever, This Sucks

Recommended Posts

This is my first post. I needed to check in with my fellow December people. Im pretty frustrated, because I'm going on 6 weeks at the same weight. Now mind you I'm doing great. Started at 301 and I'm down to 240, but I've been there now for almost 7 weeks. Anyone else stuck in this 3 month stall? I'm trying to keep my spirits up, thinking this is what the body does and it will strt losing again, but that mindset started to erode after 4 weeks of stalling ... Grrr. I think that I just need to give it more time.

I've been stuck too, I've lost 4 pounds since the beginning of February :( I just realized I dont think i am drinking enough Water, so im going to try harder to do that. Im getting in all my Protein, and am active (probably not as much as i should be though). I've read that you might be able to jump start the weight loss again if you load up on calories and fat for one day, and then go back to eating regular, that might help. I think thats what got me to lose the 4 lbs in one week last month. Just keep your head up. Everyone keeps telling me they can see the weight coming off, even though Im not losing lbs. Im trying not to get discouraged the scale isnt moving, and i barely weigh myself anymore, cuz i get annoyed when I am not showing any loss.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
