You guys think 41lbs in 10 weeks is slow?? I sure feel like it lol I bn going to the gym 4times a week for about 50mins just cardio (2 weeks already).. Is it because I'm not losing so much muscle mass ? I guess sometimes I see some people losing up to 50 lbs by 10 weeks..

You've lost 41 lbs. I don't call that slow. That's fantastic! I can tell that your comparing yourself to others. Not everyone is the same and this is not a race. It's a miracle that you have lost 41 lbs in 10 weeks. It does feel like a large amount of time, but it's basically 2.5 months. I'm dancing for you.... Keep it up, you will have stalls, but you will be loosing inches instead. ;)

Thank you Dorrie for your kind words. Yes, I guess it's hard to not compare to others. Although I know it isn't a race it's just nerve wrecking lol.. I am very happy with the results though, this is just the beginning of this great journey. Once again thank you !!! How is your journey going?

It took me almost six months to lose 50 lbs--I''d say you're doing great! It's not how fast it comes off, I don't think, but how long you persist with your plan. Keep to it long enough and everything will come off.

41 lbs in 10 weeks is awesome. Plus going to the gym 4 times a week for cardio is even more awesome. You need muscle to burn fat. You will have ups and downs but just remember you will lose weight! You are taking in lower calories exercising and eating better. You might stall for a bit here and there as your body catches up but you will lose again. My philosophy on this whole process is just do what I have to do and relax :) Have faith that the weight will come off just keep doing what you are doing.

You can not compare your loss to others. Some people have higher starting weights and different metabolisms there is no set number you should be at. A loss is a loss.

Good luck!! and congrats!

You're doing great, quit comparing! A lot of us lost much more slowly than that - I think I was down 50-60 pounds by four months out.

Friendly advice, even though it's hard for all of us: don't expect your loss to be fast, or consistent, or easy all the time. You'll save yourself headaches and stress. Just keep doing the right things and it will eventually all fall off. As you get closer to your ideal weight your body loses much more slowly, so be prepared. You can combat disappointment with a positive attitude and the knowledge that you will lose weight even if it doesn't happen at the pace you might want.

Keep it up, you're doing great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
