Hi Everyone -

I had surgery April 3rd, so I am 18 days post op.

I weighed in last Saturday and only lost .2 lbs!

I just weighed in right now and have only lost .2 lbs!

I am so discouraged!!! Before surgery I tried every diet and nothing ever worked to help me keep off weight, and now I fear that I just self-payed for this surgery, and it won't work, either!!!!!!!

Ugh - this completely sucks! :(

I have read about stalls on here and it appears if you continue following the plan the weight will eventually come off. When I first read your post I thought you had only lost .2 since surgery but it appears from your ticker that you have actually lost almost 13 lbs in 2-1/2 weeks....that doesn't seem too bad. Just stay positive and on track and it sounds like the stall will pass. People who have been through it will probably post and tell you from their own experience. Hang in there and maybe weigh yourself less often.

Hi SuzCompTime-

Thank you for your response.

I lost 11.7 lbs 7 days post op, then 1.1 lbs 13 days post op - and 18 days post op I'm down .2 lbs.

I'm not cheating on my eating plan... I'm trying to get my Water in... and I just don't understand how I'm not losing weight when my stomach is 80% smaller?!

I'm fearful this won't work for me.

Trumpet, I am too. My scale keeps going up instead of down. I'm retaining Water, I have pcos and the weight just will not come down. I'm very discouraged myself.

I also have PCOS, so I totally understand where you're coming from!

That's why no other diet or anything ever really worked for me. The most I *EVER* lost was 20 lbs on a diet I did myself, and now that I'm approaching that - I feel like my body is just giving up and won't lose anymore!!!

How is this possible?!?

UGH! :(

It will work! You just sent your body into a radical change, it needs to recooperate from the shock. Just stick with the diet and it will come off! Remember not to graze for your meals, eat breakfast....water Water water, lunch....water water water, dinner...water water water. It will happen trust me

I just got done talking to my dad about it. He's a doctor. He told me to ask my surgeon about putting me on a Water pill every other day or so or metformin. Metformin he said is a good choice for people like us who have pcos. I feel you on the dieting alone. I'm not giving up.

Are you eating mushies now? I was sleeved on April 1st and I found when I added a tiny bit of carbs, it helps with weight loss. Maybe you are getting to few calories, or maybe it is just the time of adjustment. My Nut said it could take some time to adjust, so don't worry. It will come off. There is no way it won't.

I also had PCOS. But I can tell you that the sleeve works and your body is trying hard to hang on to that weight but it wont last! Hang on ladies it you will see the scale move just keep on doing what you know is right!

When we stop and think about how long it took to gain the weight. Then it is possible to loose it over night. Your body has it's own rythum and will shed the weight in time. I think u arevdoing great with your weight loss and is right on track. Love ur body an enjoy ur jorney! ;)

You will lose. Stick to the basics, Water, Protein, exercise. If you're truly discouraged, take some measurements and compare them to your pre-op measurements. You did take pre-op measurements, right? If not, now is a good time to take them for future reference.

Thanks for the responses, all.

I am on normal foods now. Have been for a week. Everything is going down fine and I'm obviously eating drastically different. I think the MAX calories I'm getting is like 600 a day!

I take my Vitamins, and have a Protein shake for Breakfast, every Breakfast.< /p>

I do exercise (right now it's limited as I'm not cleared for full exercise)... I just don't know what my body is doing!!!! :(

You're not the only one that doesn't know what your body is doing! It doesn't know yet! You have so much going on in there and it put on the brakes until it normalizes. So many hormones and changes really can throw the body into a tailspin initially. Best thing to do is THROW AWAY THE SCALE!. Don't weigh yourself until you have to go down a size in clothes! Hang in there - you WILL lose the weight. Your body decides when its going to figure out that you're doing it right :)

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
