Im 2 wks post. Have only lost a few since. Are you still on liquids? If you're not getting alot of calories in this could be why. Our bodies are in starvation mode. I start mushy tomorrow. Once you start eating more normal foods we should start to see the numbers. I know it sux.

I'm almost 3 weeks out. Lost 17 and now the scale says I gained 4 back. Not sure how that is even possible being that I'm following the doctors orders. I'm very discouraged myself and feel like a failure.

Oh it will do that! Did that to me for 2 weeks then I just dropped 3 lbs in a week. So it was week 4-5 for me. Hang in there.

We all struggle with stalls. So I'm pretty much not going to focus on the scales and eat healthy. My weight has really slowed down according to the scale but I'm noticing by stomach has more loose skin as well as my thighs. I've gone down to a size 6 pants :). So there's no way your not going to lose weight. Eat Protein, protein, proteinn, and if able eat veggies. Eat to live andexercise. Oh it's important to drink a lot of Water. ;)

How much did you lose pre-op??? If you lost a lot that makes a huge difference..

You could have hit your stall early.. There NO WAY that you won't lose weight.

Just keep doing what you are doing and the scale will go down ...Promise!!

I know people say this and I didn't believe it, but take your measurements regularly! I found when I was stalling was when I was actually getting smaller and when I was losing my size wasn't changing,

I have been on a stall since December, with only ONE pound lost, but I have gone from a size 12 to a size 8, so I know I'm still shrinking even though I'm stuck at 168.

I was 216 on my surgery date in September and have been 168 since december. We REALLY need to focus on size instead of scale numbers.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
