Back~To~Amy 307 Posted April 21, 2012 I'm still sampling Protein powders and having an issue. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if my issue is just something I'm going to have to live with. I put my Protein Powder in a Blender Bottle and shake, shake, shake. No matter how much I shake, it still doesn't completely dissolve. It still has little "pieces" of protein powder in it. Is it something I'm doing or not doing or just something I'm gonna have to live with? Also, if I want to mix my powder in a warmed Soup, how do I do that? Put the soup in the blender bottle? If so, do you warm it before or after the protein powder is in it? Thanks!
sherlee 11 Posted April 21, 2012 I have seen two new products out recently and finally broke down today and bought one. Ensure has a flavored clear liquid out that is a Protein Drink and I just bought FRS Liquid Protein drink which is orange dream and has 26g of Protein and 9g of Fiber, it looks like gatorade. Maybe this type of product will work better for you to get your protein in? I will let you know how it is after I try it. They are not cheap though 10.00 for 4 of them. K33 87 Posted April 21, 2012 Does your shaker have a spherical - type whisk ball that helps to mix it up? If you need portablity, cooking stores have battery powered hand whiskers for creating foam in latte drinks. You can get these online.
Jswilbur 42 Posted April 21, 2012 If you have the Blender Ball Bottle, are you putting the liquid in first, then the powder, then the ball?
Back~To~Amy 307 Posted April 22, 2012 If you have the Blender Ball Bottle' date=' are you putting the liquid in first, then the powder, then the ball?[/quote'] I usually have the ball on there, add the liquid then the powder then shake.< /p>
Doreykn 113 Posted April 22, 2012 Powder Protein to me is gritty. I use a lot of liquid protein. You can get it at Walmart. It can get expensive, but sometimes it's so worth it to get a break...
clk 3,519 Posted April 22, 2012 Maybe your liquid is too cold or hot? Or maybe your proportion of liquid needs to be upped. Or maybe you just need to keep searching for your perfect protein! I use a blender ball shaker and have only had this issue with one of the samples I tried, so you shouldn't be having it every time! I mix my Protein with hot coffee in the mornings - I drop two cubes into the blender cup, brew the coffee over it and stir a few times to cool the coffee - I want my coffee hot, not nuclear hot. Then I add my protein and shake, stopping halfway through to pop the top so it won't explode on me. It's never gritty and it only ever foamy if I shake too much. You could probably do your Soup the same way. ~Cheri
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted April 22, 2012 I bought a single serving blender really cheap at Walmart. It's Hamilton Beach and I have been using it for 5 years. I can even put ice in it, blend it up and it really turns it into a shake. It makes the best smoothies.< /p>
MoogleQueen 4 Posted April 22, 2012 I find if I shake the crap out of it (I don't have a blender ball) then let it rest for a few then shake one last time it does the trick.
Nanaof2 2 Posted April 22, 2012 I also just bought some Protein powder from GNC. The clerk was very helpful in explaining there are different types of protein powder. He said that "isopure" whey powder is all pure and the granules will totally dissolve to be just like liquid if that how you like it or you can add other ingredients such as ice, Peanut Butter and other fruit. Blend it all and still no lumps The cheaper brands have so much additives he said that they not break down. The powder whey protein he showed me came in choco, strawberry, vanilla, Oreos and creme, and banana cream. I bought banana flavor. Haven't tried yet but will let you know how it works
