tmoss 33 Posted April 20, 2012 I had my sleeve done 3/26 but since then I have been dealing with withdrawals. I have never had an anger problem but find myself getting mad over the fact I can't eat what everybody else eat. I'm glad I had this procedure done but watching people eat fried foods and sweets works my nerves. Have anyone else experienced this?
thinoneday 445 Posted April 20, 2012 YOU BETCHA! In the very beginning, it's a food funeral. . .you go through the remorse of losing your best friend (food) . . . this is where I think no one is ever ready for this surgery. . . we think we are ready, but mentally we are not (this is one aspect I really wish they would tell you about). . . in the beginning during holidays was the worst for me. . i'd actually have pity parties for myself and feel sorry for me. . . it was a pretty sorry sight, . . but then i did alot of self talk, I had to remind myself why i did the surgery and what my long term goal was. . . i started to watch people and their habits with food and remind myself this is exactly how i was . . . i started getting grossed out with obese people even though i am one, i started watch man vs food and would literally get sick. . . i worked myself into thinking I don't need all that food. . . i'm eating to live, not living to eat. . . you have to work with yourself, if you find it getting worse, remove yourself from the situations or find some help. . . you'll be ok, this too shall pass, I'm out 3 years and mine finally left me at about 1 year post op. . . you can do it. . . don't let the anger eat you up, you'll only hurting yourself . . . good luck 2 Itsanewdaycassandra and Eri reacted to this

Rootman 1,101 Posted April 20, 2012 Boy did I - and still do. HULK SMASH! I had a problem with testosterone that was diagnosed years ago and had to start shots. Well as I got thinner the amount I was taking was too much (less body for the same amount of hormone) and the level shot up way too high and man was I pissed! So get your testosterone level checked. I still find myself more aggressive and vocal then I did before. My T level is back to normal, and just a little lower than what the doc wants but I'm leaving it at that. I am not sure what the root cause is. I certainly don't feel deprived any more as I am about 16+ months out and can eat pretty much anything I want, I don't crave anything and don't really miss it.
