Condessa 3 Posted April 20, 2012 I am 4 days post op and was doing great with the liquids and Proteins. Yesterday I added the chewable Celebrate multi, Calcium, and Iron and now my stomach hurts. I spread them out over the day as prescribed but have bloating and cannot pass this gas to help. I'm up walking every hour to try to get past this but I'm worried this is the way it will be with these chewables. Also the iron ones make me feel like i'm still sucking on an old penny and it has been hours since I had it. I don't remember the samples beting this icky think they make better ones for the samples? Carly 56 Posted April 20, 2012 I will say what I've said elsewhere. My doctor didn't start me on Vitamins until after two weeks because he said the stomach is not ready for them until that time. Also, he said, even at 2 weeks, if my stomach got upset, to discontinue and we'd wait until it was not damaging. Maybe you could try again after 10 days or so? thinoneday 445 Posted April 20, 2012 Doc told me that some folks are really sensative to the Iron in the Vitamins, which may be your problem as well. I suffer from that as well, so i stopped taking them, but then of course ran into the problem of malabsorption . . . ahhhh damned if you do and damned if you don't. . . I don't take the iron pills or the Calcium at all, just the multivit and the prescription VitD and B12. . . .it's better, but that's me. . . good luck
Condessa 3 Posted April 20, 2012 At this rate I'm going to be dehydrated which is worse than lacking a few Vitamins for a short time. I'm going to stop the Iron and the Calcium and see how I do with just the multi and see if I can get back on track. Thanks guys for the input.

grannyk 58 Posted April 21, 2012 Condessa, I wouldn't worry too much about the supplements at this point. In a couple of weeks you will be able to do better. I have never taken Iron, which is very hard on your stomach and causes a lot of Constipation. That would be the last thing I took as a supplement and then only if you were testing anemic. I started with liquid and under-the-tongue Vitamins. Now I take 11 pills in the morning and four at night in one swallow. It will all come together. Right now, concentrate on your Protein and Water and everything else will follow. I am a year out now. Since about 2-3 months out, I have been taking a Multivitamin, Calcium + vit D twice a day, B complex, Biotin, Vitamin D liquid every other day, krill oil, and omega-3 fish oil. My lab work has always been perfect. My hair started falling out about 4-5 months out and then started coming back in about 9-10 months out. If your hair is going to fall out, it will fall out. It is not permanent and doesn't happen to everyone. My daughter didn't lose a single extra hair after her sleeve, but I thinned out some. Try not to obsess over everything. It will just make you miserable needlessly. Good luck, Kathe
Condessa 3 Posted April 21, 2012 I talked to the doctor's office and they told me to try to tolerate what I can on the vitiamins and supps and if I can't do them now just wait. They also recommended milk of mag. and that helped settle my stomach back down and relieved some of the bloating and I finally had a bm which made me feel so much better. I've not had a gallbladder for several years and hoped the sleeve surg would help slow the bile that pours into my stomach but it has done nothing to slow it. Oh well I've been dealing with that for years and is nothing I can't handle.
