DDFinn 118 Posted April 20, 2012 I think it would be the same no matter what you weight is. I have seen it vary length depending on weight. Some people have to start their pre-op diet a month before surgery, and others only 3 days. On my pre-op diet there was no limit on sugar free beverages. Good Luck! NJsharon 119 Posted April 20, 2012 I think there is also no limit on pre-op liquids, as long as you are sticking to the rules for what liquids you are having. And no to the buffet! LOL ;o)

Well my dr told us that the reason for the pre-op diet was to shrink the liver, soda is tough on the liver so I would say stay away from those if you can ..they told us we have to use a brand of shakes and Soups called opti fast, and it's expensive. $125 a week before surgery because it has been successful in the past compared to allowing people to choice their own foods..i would guess liquids would be unlimited as long as they are sugar free and probably caffeine free. Do you have a nutrionist at the office you are going to ? If so maybe send them an email and ask, my list said unlimited Water, or tea with sugar substitute Nd unlimited sugar free Popsicles
