Omg! This Is Frustrating....

Recommended Posts

I work at a small but very successful company it's only 8 of us in the office. I had to tell my boss that I was going to start a program to lose weight because I had to do the 6 Month for the insurance company. I don't know if i regret this because now my boss is always asking how i'm doing (wish I don't mind) but I notice that the other employees now tend to look over when I'm eating as if to see if I'm following the diet It's so uncomfortable.

They still don't know I'm having surgery I have just started this journey my secont weight in is in May I truly don't know how I'm going to handle the wait and the constant people looking over me to see if I'm sticking to the diet :/

Did anyone have to go through this??

That's one reason I opted not to tell anyone. I attend a very close-knit church and we eat together a LOT. I did NOT want everyone evaluating my plate and constantly asking how much weight I've lost. I've already got one close friend doing that. He's a "biggest loser" fan, and is excited to see how much i lose, but PLEASE.... So...ya, that's the position I'd be in if I'd have made this any more of public knowledge than it is. ONe thing for sure...it'll keep you honest! ;)

Actually, I really don't care what people think or do. They will tire of checking your food soon and will forget about it. In a way, this can keep you on tract and accountable in a way. It could be highly advantageous for you. ;)

Ohh ladies don't get me wrong I don't care what they think my doctor did not give me any specifics on what to eat but I am keeping checks on what I eat these days to prep for surgery. In my office I could not keep it a secret cause they are always offering me food so I had to say something to make that stop. But how annoying it gets when your eating and eventhough they try to hide it you can feel eyes watching you from the side when they pass.

What it's more frustrating to me is this 6 month wait it's killing me I can't wait to have my surgery date already :)

I told my boss, but I told her to swear not to tell...first she laughed, then she looked at me and I had a straight face she knew I was serious...and she told me to calm down she swear she will not tell...

my colleagues know I have changed my eatting habits, and asked, I told them I'm doing Medifast again, and they were like oh ok....some of them have changed their eating, but they think I'm on Medifast....

Only my close friend/colleague knows the truth and that's because she had RNY and noticed me taking time off every month....she put it together and confronted me and I confessed and swore her to not tell...lol...

I had to do that to my primary Doc sent me to nutritionist and they were nice and informative and at the end of it they had classes on the after surgery diets it was interesting. Yes I hated it counting calories etc. If I was good at this type of diet I wouldn't need surgery! I don't think I was required to loose that much in the 6mo. I just had to put in the effort so I didn't have to pay cash. The time will pass soon. Good Luck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
