Double Chin!

Recommended Posts

When did you lose yours for good?? Mine taunts me every time I look in the mirror or catch my reflection in a window! I know I've only lost 30 lbs and I have a lot more to lose -- but I feel like its become more prominent and noticeable since I've lost weight around it..I can see some of my collar bone!

I hope I don't have a double chin forever!

Sry just had to rant ;)

I have lost 70 lbs and although I'm not double skin, I have a lot of wrinkles there. A ton actually. But it's better than a double chin so I'm not complaining. ;)

I still have a bit of that double chin, but nowhere near as bad as before. I'm at 94 pounds lost, if that helps.

hahaha, I have a loose turkey skin chin now. . . I remind myself of my grandma! I'll stand infront of the mirror and shake my head and watch it wobble. . . oh well, at least I'm not 350 lbs! I traded one thing for another. . . I'll take the wobble anyday!

I've got more chins than a chinese phone book. Could stand to lose a few of them.

Lol, took about 100 lbs I think, but I was super morbidly obese. And now? It's totally gone.

I like that my triple chin became a double LOL! I also have jiggle to my neck I feel self consceince about but love my face more these days.

I feel really fat these days. Maybe I just didn't look much before? Maybe your chin is better and you're just getting more body conscientious? I don't know about you but I think that is my problem.

Yup, I have a turkey waddle, too. I feel like my humungous double chin (which was really a terribly fat neck) has deflated a whole bunch, leaving a wrinkly waddle. Oh well. I'm using firming cream like crazy and it seems to be helping. I'm hoping that when I lose more, the waddle will shrink up.

LOVE that line and am definitely stealing it! I'm the same. So far half my face has disappeared, but only one or two of my multiple chins which is VERY sad...

Wishes: you look beautiful in your picture. As for my chin I have always viewed myself as I looked like 10 years ago. Call it a weird that I couldn't see a fat girl in the mirror. When I got my passport photo I could really see my chins. I look forward to them disappearing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
