Nausea After Eating - 1 Week Post-Op

Recommended Posts

So today I started on soft Protein. About an hour ago I had the most delicious, delightful, wonderful, amazing deviled egg. I got super duper full after eating it and now I'm nauseous. WTF Sleeve?

Please tell me this is normal at 1 week post op. Please don't tell me that delicious, delightful, wonderful, amazing deviled egg did it.

ALSO I am down a total of 17 lbs! 5 pre-op and 12 post-op. :D

I was still on Clear Liquids at one week out. Maybe it's just too early to start going after eggs? I wasn't cleared for any eggs other than runny scrambled ones until one month after surgery.

Agree with mews! I'm 9 days post and I'm on liquids still for the rest of the week. Then the next 2 weeks I start mushy. In sticking to my drs orders. I personally think that starting mushy so soon is exactly that. Too soon. I want my sleeve to heal before I start working her! Lol

If you are only one week, you should most likely be on either Clear Liquids or full liquids, which would not include eggs. Your stomach needs time to heal. try sticking to liquids for another week before you move on to full liquids. Don't rush it, you are not helping yourself by doing that.

I'm not eating anything I'm not supposed to. My surgery was 4/10 it has been 8 days since then. My post-op appointment was today and I was cleared for soft Protein. eggs are on my list - boiled eggs to be specific. Now I'm not denying that *i* might not be ready for that, but I would rather it not be insinuated that I'm doing something I'm not supposed to. Perhaps my body isn't ready for the transition, but I am following the post-op plan set forth by my surgeon.

I didn't mean that you were doing something you shouldn't be. I just have never heard of a soft Protein stage at all. Normally it is clear liquids, full liquids, mushies, soft foods, regular foods. I guess all doctors are different with their eating plans. Perhaps if you are nauseated though, it would be best to stick to the liquids for a few days. Some people cannot handle eggs after this surgery, so maybe tat applies to you. Give it another week or so and try again. Good luck!

I was the same way a couple weeks post-op. I was so excited to eat scrambled eggs & they just didn't sit right in my stomach. I still struggle with them 3 months post-op.

I am 7 days out and get to start mushy foods, so I am in the same boat as you. I tried ricotta cheese ths morning and felt a bit sick after but it passed. It may just be because it s something new to our new tummies. Good luck!

I'm betting your tummy is still just swollen, I've been on liquids (have to be strained) for 18 days so each Dr. is so different. I'd give it 1-2 wks and try again. Good Luck!
