Recommended Posts

Ok guys haven't lost anything since 4 weeks ago. One week I gained 4 lbs and then lost it. Now back to the first twenty pounds. Frustrated.

You lost 20lbs in a month thats not bad. Have you tried cutting back on carbs they have always affected my weight loss. I am at the lower BMI I lost 20 at first and only lost about 10 per month. but much more than I was before sleeve. Some of us just have to be more patient!!

I stalled out for almost 6 weeks. I re-evaluated EVERYthing I was taking in. I found that if I go too far above 800 calories, I stop losing. I scaled back anything with carbs (I still need 1/4 cup Grape nuts in my low carb yogurt for some "fiber action") and laid off weights at the gym and just going with cardio and walking. That pushed me back into loss mode. I was frustrated with the stall, and started getting careless.

I feel your pain. I am a slow loser naturally. I don't mind losing just a one pound a week, but I had a stall at 3 weeks that lasted 3.5 weeks and then all of a sudden, four pounds fell off. I was doing everything right and we all know that you can not sustain your current weight with the amount of calories you're actually putting in. I came into this forum to lament to someone and got the encouragement I needed to stop stepping on the scale and it'll all work out if you stick to the program. I would not make the "Biggest Loser" show very long, but consistent loss and many, many inches are on my side. Remember this is a marathon not a sprint and going to bed at night knowing that you've done your best will reap rewards.

Relax and enjoy the journey, I'm down about 27 lbs since my Dec surgery and just staring to get the compliments and really feeling the advantages of hauling around a few less lbs. It'll all work out for you.. The best of luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
