hrtgoeson 19 Posted April 17, 2012 It seems most to all Band surgeons have their patients do the low-carb diet. After reading a bunch of posts here most people say they eat whatever they want, just in little quantities. What did everyone's surgeon tell them? I don't see mine til next week so I"m just curious if it's any different or if eating the 'little bit of anything' is for those that are maintaining.
cookies 56 Posted April 17, 2012 I think the issue is that our sleeves hold such a limited amount of food that most doctors feel it is imperative that we get in Protein first, then vegetables, then fruit...then if any room is left, carbs. It's all about high-quality nutrition. I personally plan on following a low-carb diet when I'm done, but I'm sure I'll have days when I have treats or eat whatever I want. 1 PdxMan reacted to this

Doreykn 113 Posted April 17, 2012 My Dr. says no sugar, Pasta, rice or white bread or white flour products...turns to a gooey ball & can cause blockages...
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted April 17, 2012 My doc really has said anything about diet. It's the NUT that educated us on portion size and balance in diet. Oh and not to eat rice, pasta's, and breads. If we eat bread we need to toast it first. However, after eating Protein, I am pretty much done.
