Oh no, sorry your not feeling too well! You should probably call your Dr. and explain what's going on. Maybe they should change your medication. Feel better! Keep me posted!

You should always call your doc when you think something isn't right...but...I had horrible stomach cramps everytime I drank something cold, hot or a dairy product and learned real quick to warm things up. Sounds like you might have become lactose intolerant.

I've been told that many people become lactose intolerant after surgery, though often only temporary. Wishing you WELL, dear.

Dr called me back and believes it's lactose and intestinal cramps. Said it's normal to have my digestive tract confused! If it doesn't get better I'll see him tomorrow. Thanks all

Ok new question.... Do all of you get cramping before diarrhea? Don't think it's my sleeve but my intestines. My cramping is severe

I did! I tried to drink coffee on Sunday. I started with crampy stomach and then diarrhea. Maybe you should go to your Dr. if it's really bad. You don't want to let it go.

Before I was diagnosed with lactose intolerance (this was 20+ years ago), I remember getting horrible cramps after eating dairy, which was then followed by gas and diarrhea. It was awful. Corn and cucumbers cause the same reaction. I hope you get the answer at the ER, but I highly recommend looking and your food intake to discover the triggers.

Back from ER. I'm having a reaction to the blood transfusion! 1/700000 chance! I am jaundice and they found a raging bladder infection which is weird becsuse o jave no symptoms. Water is the best tx and of course that is the only thing I'm drinking since I'm 8 days post op. Still don't have labs on why extreme cramping. But will tomorrow. Difficult to get anything in due to any liquid starts cramping again and best news...the antibiotic will cause stomach cramping!!!!! WTH!!!!!! Good news ...lost 14 lbs in 8 days Prayers are needed. I'm really scared.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
