Does anyone camp? If so can you eat s’mores? They are my favorite part of camping. We are planning a trip for the end of September. I will be on regular food by then. :hungry: And I will want one ore two.

I don't see why you can't, just as long as you take small bites and chew well. Its really an individual thing so you'll have to try it to know.

Don't eat to many now and have FUN !!!!

Yes! My son is a Cub Scout, and we camp twice a year (Spring & Fall). Being a single mom and the Committee Chair the past couple of years... I'm on every trip and excursion. Since we go as a group, it gives my son & I an opportunity to have the camping experience - I'm not sure if I'd be brave enough to do it by ourselves. But I'm feeling like I can do anything now!

I've never had trouble with Smores, but I can only eat 1.. half section of graham cracker with a square of Hershey chocolate and 1 large marshmallow. You should be fine with 1 or 2 since it sounds like you won't have had a fill by then. If you are feeling restriction, with or without a fill, I would only recommend to take it slow, allow 30 seconds between bites.... those crackers have a way of expanding in your stomach.

Practice makes perfect! And, I have a feeling you'll have lots of yummy fun "practing" with smores!

Happy camping!

Karla

Oh my goodness, I love s'mores! I have one of those cookers that I bought at Kohls where you can make them at home (and no, I haven't used it since getting my band). But there is nothing like making them over a open fire when you are camping. Enjoy!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
