Lizzygirl079 22 Posted April 15, 2012 Am I the oddball sleever with no pre-op diet? My surgery date is May 7 and doc says he wants me healthy and strong for surgery. I'm all for it, but it feels like I'm missing something.
BridalMama 2 Posted April 15, 2012 My surgery is next Monday (04/23) and I have yet to be prescribed any kind of liquid diet. I think it just depends on your surgeon.
bratvp63 118 Posted April 15, 2012 I only had to do liquids the day before surgery which was not that hard.

Lizzygirl079 22 Posted April 15, 2012 Thanks for the input. I'm trying to be good without being "ordered" to. What I really need to do is give up the caffeine. I've slowed down on the soda but I don't feel human until after my morning coffee.< /p>
Nadz 74 Posted April 15, 2012 I had no pre-op diet. I was just told to have a light dinner the night before and stop eating at 22:00.
ThisTimeIsIt 71 Posted April 15, 2012 I didn't have a preop diet either just had to stop eating 12 hours before surgery.
Mews 37 Posted April 15, 2012 No pre-op diet here either. Just no food after midnight before the surgery. I would recommend trying to not eat a half hour before and after meals. That's the hardest part.

vanb0052 40 Posted April 16, 2012 I'm so jealous of all of you!! My surgeon actually is doing the 2 week liquid diet to show it can be done and to get a better understanding of what he's asking his patients to do. Kind of cool Good luck to you all with your surgeries! I hope to get my date next month
