grannyk 58 Posted April 15, 2012 Well, one year ago I was in Mexicali just beginning this life-changing journey. I have not yet met my goal, and I am 0.2 (!!!) lbs away from Onederland, but I would never go back. I am still confident that I am not through losing, but if this is as good as it gets, I can live with it for the rest of my life. I am confident it will be much better than if I had not had this surgery done. My blood pressure is very well controlled. I am still taking my med because my daughter doesn't want me to "take any chances". I am off all my diabetic medications and my fasting sugars in the morning are in the 70's and 80's. I have had to learn how to walk like a normal person, but it has really helped my self confidence. I encourage everyone thinking about getting sleeved not to let uncertainty and comments of outsiders cloud your decision making. Be bold and go for the gold. Love to all...Kathe

I Made It 11 Posted April 16, 2012 Hi, I was sleeved by Dr. Aceves on 4/13/11... I must have met you or passed you on our walk in the hallway. My room was across the hall from the nurses station. I am happy to say I am down 67lbs and below my personal goal of 150lbs I am happy to hear you are doing well too! Take care and keep it going! Wendy
