Hello! My surgery was April 9 and I feel great. No issues. Mild discomfort. Question is every sip sounds like my stomach is going crazy! Lol. Tons of gurgling. Normal?

Totally. It will do it like crazy for atleast the first month. Over everything. If it bothers you you can take the gas x melts, They help a lot.

Mine does to. I was sleeved 3 days ago. I just sent my sister for gas x. It's the only thing causing pain!

Growling is normal, I still have it along with occasional hiccups.

I'm for weeks out and my stomach still growls at me everyday! I guess that's its way of letting me know to send down some food since I don't have the "Hunger Hormone" in there anymore. Rught after I eat something, it stops for about 3 hours, then it starts up again and I also have a slight hiccup as well, but I can live with all of this because I'm feeling and looking better every day! :D

Mine is making all sorts of loud noises! It's embarrassing because it's so loud. Like others, I don't feel any pain and I'm not hungry, my sleeve is just obnoxious. :o

My husband always says "gseundheit" or "say that again?" when my stomach makes noises. It's embarrasing but I can't help but crack up when he does it!

Wow am I happy to hear that, I was starting to think something was wrong with me. Every time I eat something it sounds like a party going on. I was afraid that my body was telling me that I eat too much. Glad to hear everyone else is experiencing this. Anyone have any suggestions to the puree stage. Is there anything I should avoid or can I have pretty much what I want within reason just pureed? ?

I was sleeved April 9 as well and this noise is why I named my new tummy "Chewbacca". Sounds like a Wookie party in there!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
