This has pain isn't a joke it hurts all I want to do is sleep and hopefully burp or fart!

Get some gas x strips and walk, walk, walk. I never got a single surgical gas pain because I insisted on walking every two hours the first 2 days.

Sleeved April 10th no gas pains ever. No real pain due to surg but I was nauseated for a week and the next week I had back pain from the hernia incision.

Going back to work Monday. At pre-op app I lost 22 pounds. But am having potty issues. Tried milk of magnesia and nothing happen.

Gonna try again tomorrow. I am very tired and miss my diet soda but I hope to lose more weight soon.

4/10/12 and doing great. I have had a nagging ache/cramp (not sure which) in the incision where the belly was removed. Not painful but annoying. I din't know if this is part of healing or something else. I'll monitor over the weekend and call doctor on Monday if necessary.

Anyone else experience this?

That's normal. Out I all the incisions that will be the one that 'hurts' the worst. Mine wasn't painfull just very uncomfortable. I am 1week 2days out and yesterday was the first day I didn't feel it. :) good luck!!!!

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing but since I'm still in the early post op stages, I want to make sure everything is "normal"...

That's normal I hate how itchy it gets too. I had a pretty bad experience with mine. It didn't get infected but it hasn't stopped leaking for the past week so I went to the doctor and he opened it up it was the most painful thing, now it's wide open and getting better but I honestly got freaked out when I saw the hole open

Sleeved on April 17th, Juarez Mexico with the wonderful team of Dr. Jose Rodriguez I still can't believe it's over. So I'm 4 days out now. Yesterday, had all kinds of energy doing great, a little laundry, etc.. Today, weaker, but I believe it's because I'm not getting enough Protein. I just realized I'm only getting under 20 grams a day. And it's hard to get the Water in. I have abdominal cramps fierce. So, I think today is weighing on me. I made a whole batch fresh chicken broth and I'm constantly drinking it. Warm liquids only right now. Any other suggestions would be helpful.

I'm thankful for my decision and feel really positive about my new life though!!!

I was sleeved on Mon. 4/16, 6 days post op. I'm feeling shakey and light headed. Also I just noticed that the popsickles I've been eating aren't sugar free and they have real juce in them. Do you think I have hurt my sleeve. I have not had any nautiousness and no heartburn.

I think the lightheadedness comes from not getting enough Fluid. Check your intake. Can you do liquid Activia? That really saved me as far as getting some sustenance. I don't think the sugar would hurt your sleeve. They are just worried about the calories. I'm sure you are fine. Just keep a water bottle with you and drink all day long. Good luck!

Hello =) I was sleeved on April 2. I feel great, but I am definitely missing food. My doctor has us doing a 4 week post-op liquid diet. I see that many people on here are already able to eat mushy food so I am so curious to know how the eating is going for those of you who have tried to eat. I am dying for some mashed potatoes and tuna fish ;) However, according to my doctor's diet for patients, I will not be able to eat any of that stuff till week 6.

I'm doing really great down 20 lbs and dwells good! I just have a little stomach spasm I guess u would call it? Its not often but when i sit up right for periods of time its like a spasm or cramping feeling other than that I'm rocking it out! I haven't had pain meds since the day of my surgery. I do take acid blocker because the acid in my tummy gets angry lol and makes me feel like I'm starving but its not to bad!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
