ThisTimeIsIt 71 Posted April 15, 2012 I made it, surgery went good yesterday morning. At home now & lots of pain in the left incision (where they pulled out the stomach) and having a hard time getting in liquid. I have to walk when ever I take a sip or I feel like there's too much gas in there and it'll come back up. Nurse said this is due to the hiatial hernia repair, and it should go away. I just want to get past this part, can't wait to get to eat soups! I am already tired of broth and popsicles. LOL How long until the incision pain goes away? And I feel like I can drink or eat again? kiki19 16 Posted April 15, 2012 Yea, you made it!!!!! I started laughing when I read that. It is a scary process. That was one of my first thoughts when I came to, I made it through...I think that is something everybody thinks about when going into surgery. My incisions are still a little tender. Walking does help with the tenderness. I don't know why. Water and walking, I saw where someone wrote that...that is what it takes. I ate a lot of ice chips on a spoon with water...still do. I guess it gives me the thrill of holding a eating utensil. I can't wait until soft foods...only nine more days to go...Looking forward to Beans and cheese...that sounds funny saying that. I can have fish after the fourth week, which will be around mother's day...I keep thinking tilapia and grilled zucchini...but, heck, I will probably change before then.
