Do Not Pay Dr. Kelly Deposit Until You Are Sure!

Recommended Posts

It's stands for Fellow of the American College of surgeons. Is an organization in the USA that many surgeons here belong to but only a few out of the country do. Dr. Kelly takes great pride on being a member but if they knew his unprofessional practices his membership can be in geopardy. What I said in the other post that bothered Omar was that many surgeon in Mexico could qualify to be in it but they choose not to persue it, that being an FACS member is not a requirement to being an amazing surgeon, like I believe Dr. Ponce is, and obviously Dr. Kelly did too since Dr. Ponce was Dr.Kellys teacher with the sleeve.

I understand well he better start having his staff treat people better then.

Yeah I agree, no matter how good of a surgeon you are you should treat everyone with respect!

Omar is fantastic!

I've always had calls and emails returned ASAP.

They aren't requiring me to make a deposit.

I couldnt be more thrilled to have my surgery scheduled with Dr. Kelly in June.

I agree 100% that if you have a problem you try and get it resolved, but not sure if bashing him on a public forum is correct either?!?!

Good luck with your surgery, I heard Dr Ponce de leon is a great surgeon as well.

I'm just perusing this post... cause I was nosy I guess.. but,

goofycathy, what do you think was said that would be considered "bashing"???

I am unsure what you mean by bashing him goofycathy. If I wanted to "bash" him I would post all of the emails I have received from them where they bash doctors, coordinators and other people. They required for me to pay a deposit and I know they have asked the same of other people, I am glad they are not requiring the same from you. My intention was not to "bash" anyone, only to make people aware that this is an issue, I wish I had listened to previous posts about it, but hey live and learn. Good luck with your surgery.

Your right, bashing may have been the wrong word...

I just want to double check, but I don't think I violated any of the forum rules. Please correct me if I am wrong. I posted about my personal experience with a doctor and his office staff, and that appears to be within the guidelines. Please let me know if this is not the case. Thank you!

Hello,

I attempted to contact Dr Kelly via http://www.mexicoobesitysurgery.com/ and received responses from http://alighterme.com. At http://alighterme.com the surgeons listed do NOT include Dr Kelly. According to the article at http://www.prlog.org/10861118-lighter-me-weight-loss-facilitator-hires-three-new-bariatric-surgeons.html Dr Kelly IS a part of this group.

What is going on?

Thanks,

Paula

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
