Artsy 48 Posted May 28, 2012 I'm the same way. I'm almost 3 weeks out & must have Protein as soon as I wake in the morning. I usually cook a scrambled egg, followed by yogurt If I don't have protein right away, I will begin to get so fatigued by 10am. At work, this is not the optimal feeling I need. I've even had to go out to my car to take a nap. I hope this is temporary and will go away as soon as I can eat more. 1 robindei reacted to this
twistedkitten25 27 Posted May 28, 2012 Had my surgery on the 21st. There was internal bleeding so I had to go in for second surgery to remove softball sized clot and spend 4 days in the hospital. Just started feeling ok yesterday...the nausea, pain, dizziness and headache were almost unbearable and there were many crying episodes...now its just soreness and pain when I cough or sneeze or move around, but I can handle that much better. Now the hardest part is getting used to the diet and hating every commercial or picture of food I come across
Artsy 48 Posted June 2, 2012 I'm doing great! Not able to exercise much because of work and fatigue but am getting better all the time. How are you? We're you a May Sleever?

Debi Morris 14 Posted June 19, 2012 I feel like such a failure in here. I was sleeved 5/15 and today is week 5. I've only lost 15 pounds. I know, it's 15 pounds I couldn't lose before but I read everyone's testimonies on here and they seem so much further in weight loss than me. Can anyone give me any suggestions or write down a day in your life (eating) for me? I appreciate any and all feedback.
change 22 Posted June 19, 2012 Hi Debi, Just wanted to let you know that I am right with you. I was also sleeved on 5/15 and I have lost 19 lbs since surgery; however, including my preop diet I am down a total of 36 lbs. Did you lose anything preop? I've been counting my preop because if not I feel like I would also be a little disappointed with just my 19 lbs. I understand how you feel.
twistedkitten25 27 Posted June 19, 2012 Debi, I usually start with a Protein Shake made from fruit punch crystal light and two scoops unflavored Protein. Then I have some greek yogurt (can be sweetened with splenda or some other sweetener...even some canned fruit--in juice not syrup). For dinner i heat up a filet of tilapia (bought a big bag of frozen plain filets) that i just season with herbs and seasoned salt. This morning I changed it up and had some cottage cheese with a bit of salt and pepper. Hope this helps.
Debi Morris 14 Posted June 19, 2012 I wasn't placed on a pre-op diet so no. I actually feel like I lost out on so much. Everyone seems to have had so much care on here. I was to go to a class titled "Mindful Eating" which is offered once a month and I was out of town and have yet made it up. I did go to a Nutritional class but that was it. So I absolutely feel lost here. I'm not sure if it's because I can tolerate most foods I'm not losing or if I'm just slow. I might mention I'm on medication for my back which is known for weight gain. I don't want to use that as an excuse but it could be part of why I'm not losing at a faster rate. What is your diet right now?
change 22 Posted June 19, 2012 Debi, I am currently on soft foods until next tuesday when I meet with my nutritionist and surgeon. For the most part I get my Protein from Protein Shakes, scrambled eggs, chicken, greek yogurt, and cheeses. I'm trying to stay pretty strict with getting in all my protein and fluids but I'm not that good at hitting my goals yet for either of them. I think one of the reasons for me not losing right now is I'm not having enough calories so I'm trying to focus on that for now. I think your medication could definitely be a cause for your slower loss. You should check with your NUT or surgeon for a more solid answer. I hope that helps. Chimera 644 Posted July 2, 2012 6 weeks out today and have lost 30 lbs. since surgery day. Deb, hang in there, we got the sleeve and it is a permanent tool to help us - we have it forever, so we have time to find just the right diet and movement mix. Each week for me seems totally different from the week before - I will have my Premier shakes one week and then the next I can hardly get them down, so I go to eggs and turkey bacon - then those are not good and I am craving summer fruit, so I will have a small nectarine for a snack (and give myself a break than it isnt Protein - but is a good choice and not chips or Cookies etc.) Slower is good - less skin issues I figure
