suzcomptime 17 Posted May 17, 2012 Wow, so many differences in the after surgery experiences. I hope I am lucky enough not to be too nauseous. Whatever it is, "this too shall pass"...it's only a few days. Surgery on Monday. I find out tomorrow what time. Hope they don't forget to call me
HoneyBeeBK 2 Posted May 17, 2012 I spoke to the doctors and I'm staying another night. I have been moving around trying to get this horrible gas out. The incision points hurt too. I am trying to eat the Clear Liquids but it's hard keeping them down. Thanks for all the well wishes. 1 cmeless reacted to this
piercedphoenix 8 Posted May 18, 2012 Honey, I was sleeved May 7th. I learned something valuable very quick...warm liquids go way better than cold. Hot tea worked miracles for me. I know everyone is different, but I learned from everyone's tips. Good luck, I promise it does get better!!!!
NJsharon 119 Posted May 18, 2012 Yes, I also found warm liquids went down better than cold liquids. Especially those first few days after surgery.
MyGastricSleeveLife 180 Posted May 18, 2012 Yeah - I found that warmer things go down easier. I used to love cold Water, but now I warm everything up in my mouth before swallowing!

Glendaaus 20 Posted May 20, 2012 Thanks. I am really lucky to have had nothing the matter not even one bit nausea. The ladies were laughing at me at the hospital they thought I was a visitor and not a patient - apparently I was running up and down the hallways. I guess because I Manage a jewellery store I am used to being on my feet 8 hours a day - so my recovery was easy. I would not have made it this far without this site - makes my day! 1 weight_no_longer reacted to this
suzcomptime 17 Posted May 20, 2012 Yes, this site has helped me a lot and I feel as prepared as I could be. Tomorrow is the big day at 11am. Trying to decide whether to take my laptop. I don't have a smartphone and staying in touch with family and friends seems like a natural thing to do in between walking and napping. Hopefully I will be reporting back soon and not feel out of sorts too long after surgery.
Mela 6 Posted May 20, 2012 Anyone else going to have their sleeve in May? I'm excited and now the nervousness has set in. I am reading a few posts that people are in the hospital for like 3 days. My dr said I would only be in the hospital one day. And that I would walk the same day as my surgery.... Is this something they tell everyone or should I plan on more than one day there? Either way' date=' my life changes May 16th and I'm excited [/quote'] I was in the hospital longer due to a reaction to the anesthesia but I was told the same one day. It depends on how your body takes surgery. Before the sleeve, I had never had surgery before so I had no idea that I would have a bad reaction to the anesthesia. Good luck and keep us updated. I was so glad that my brother brought me mine it kept me sane. Good luck 1 suzcomptime reacted to this
chrysler 16 Posted May 21, 2012 I had my sleeve on the 17th of May. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. The pain wasn't bad the gas isn't too bad. Still feels like nothing ever happened. I can only eat half a cup of Jello so far though. When did everyone start cream of Soups? I have lost 9lbs since surgery. Amazing
