Well it is now official I was sleeved this morning at 7:30. All things considered I'm feeling really good. Everyone is right about the walking it really does help. When I first woke up I had more discomfort than I expected but it was mostly from the trapped air in the upper abdominal area. The incisions actually don't hurt too bad but off course I am still on pain meds but only half a dose every 4 hours. I also had a hiatal hernia repair and it sounds like a lot of the tightness/soreness is related to that. Thank you everyone for your prayers, kind thoughts and well wishes. I've learned a lot of valuable information from all of you that is going to make this journey so much more Enlightened and rewarding.

I travel for work and had the same problem. First I tried taking the ready mades - they were so heavy, so now I get the ziplock snack sized bags and pre measure each serving (two scoops per bag). Then I put all the snack bags into a larger baggie and seal it. Light, small and ready to go!

Thanks! I just hope airport security doesn't give me a hard time with baggies of white powder?!!! That could make a very bad morning!!!!!

I take different flavors. Choc, banana, etc. so different colors and I also keep a shaker bottle in my bag, all contributing evidence.....no problems so far, even when I travel to the Middle Est!

I'm on the losers bench! About 7:00 am yesterday I was sleeved. I feel like a train ran over me! Its been one horrible first night. I have not been passing gas or burping. I just feel like my insides are fire.

I felt the same way yesterday until I started walking. Everything feels better when I'm up. I really hope you feel better soon :-). Keep your chin up!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
