suchaprettyface 11 Posted April 12, 2012 No' date=' I was sleeved on April 4. At my two week mark, it was countdown time. How are you feeling?[/quote'] Congratulations!! I am fluctuating between being very excited and being so nervous! Last night I went through the thoughts of "why am I doing this again? I'll never be able to eat as much as I want for comfort anymore!" and I got kind of terrified. Then I calmed down as was like, "that's exactly why I'm doing this!" LOL How are you feeling? How did your procedure go? Are you down anything yet? I meet wih the dietician tomorrow to find out about what my post op diet will be. Tell me all about yours. Please, I could use some details. Thank you for reaching out to me :-)
atkinsoncl 62 Posted April 12, 2012 Thank you! Everything went well wit my surgery. No complications and it was actually took him an hour less than I was scheduled for. After the surgery was over (around 1:15), they put me on so many meds that I was basically out until about 6 a.m. the next morning. Since I slept so much, I didn't think I would be able to be discharged, but then I started to feel better. Getting up was a chore, but I could walk and keep fluids down so I was able to go home that day. Your emotions are completely normal. I went through every emotion there was. I even cried when they came to get me to take me to the operating room. Then I don't remember anything. Before I was released, I had to do a leak test. After that came back normal, I was able to eat. For the first 5 day, I only had Clear liquids. broth, sugar free popsicles, clear Protein drinks, a little Jello, and I was able to drink my Water. The first day preop, I could not drink Water . . . made me sick. Now, I am on the full liquids stage. I have added greek yogurt, cream Soups (strained), sugar free pudding, Protein shakes. I need to get in 50 grams of Protein and 64 oz of liquid. I am having no problem meeting that. I am tracking all my Fluid and calories on SparkPeople.com. The first day, I only got in about 300 calories, now I am around 550. Puree stage starts next week and hopefully so do my Vitamins because I have no energy. All in all, I feel great! The only complaint is my energy level. I only had nausea for about 24-36 hours and really didn't experience the really bad gas pains. Anything else that you need, please don't hesitate to ask. I know how you are feeling trust me . . . just trying to be prepared as possible. You are going to do wonderful!!
Stirling2002 2 Posted April 17, 2012 I am the 23rd also, first thing in the morning. I am fearful of surgery and have had thoughts of "why am I undergoing unnecessary surgery and going under anesthesia again?" Then there are the thoughts of whether I can do this or not (especially post the Nutritionist meeting). I'm anxious though because I'm just tired of yo-yo diets and gaining all of my lost weight back. 6 days and counting.
