I haven't gotten my surgery yet, but I'm seeing just how realistic depression is without my "drug of choice" food. I'm going to get a journal tomorrow and start looking into support groups. Somethings I just can't talk to ny family and friends about

I can relate. food is my calming friend.

Just going to the grocery store was depressing.

Seeing all my favorite buddies, and Im picking out Protein bars, LOL!! But seriously, that is a great idea, I think I will do the same, then in six months, I can look back and see how far Ive come. This site is the best!!

it will take some time to adjust but most people do. Journaling and support groups are definitely great ideas! You might want to also consider psychological therapy to figure out the reasons behind your self medication with food. Unfortunately many people get the surgery and don't deal with the underlining issue and end up abusing drugs or alcohol. Good luck and hang in there!

      Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...
