Diet-Headache And Hungry

Recommended Posts

I started the liquid diet yesterday to try to loose at least 15 pounds. I do not need to do the liquid diet yet because I don't have a date yet. I am just trying to loose the minimum amount of weight my surgeon said I would need to loose before surgery.

I woke up this morning with a headache and hungry. I had my morning shake and a bottle of Water. I took tylenol, but it is not helping with my headache.

How long will this last?

What shakes are you taking? Are they filling? From what I have read that should only happen the first two days till your body gets adjusted

Get lots of rest these first couple days. Everybody says the first 3 days are the hardest...

How do you make them? With just Water? Or do you put skim milk, and maybe add fruits?

The headaches are most likely from sugar or caffeine withdrawels...at least that is what I have seen and read alot. I personally dont drink coffee and very little soda but i am hoping when i have to do the liquid diet i dont encounter this. I am currently on medicine for my Migraines as it is!! It should be better in a few days just keep yourself hydrated and i find that Excedrine works the best for headaches (they were recalled off the shelf but the generic is the same). Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
