jiggyjen1982@yahoo.com 15 Posted April 10, 2012 I had my sleeve done on April 3rd!! I have done great:) the worst of it all I think were the gas pains after surgery(which I am still having). Does anyone no how much longer those last? Lol! I have just joined the sight. I'm excited to talk to everyone, ask questions that I might have. Also, hope to answer some! 1 ChristineS NY reacted to this

cassieh 136 Posted April 10, 2012 I had my VSG on March 29th and I had terrible gas pains. The very best thing for gas is WALK, WALK, WALK. I cannot stress that enough. Gasx strips work also but not as well as walking. Good luck 1 oneproudpappa reacted to this
topgun 63 Posted April 10, 2012 Gas X strips will not help post op gas because the post op gas is not within the GI system but outside of it. Post op gas must be assimilated and walking will hasten the elimination of it out of your system. Terrible pain, tho, and each case is different. I have heard that some dr's are better at removing the gas before the end of the procedure than others, too. I had almost no probems with my surgery but I have had it in the past. Awful, awful, awful. I'm so sorry you are having such discomfort. I hope it goes away, soon. Pain meds help, too, so don't be afraid to use them.

The discomfort from the gas stayed with me until the day after I got home. I have been walking up and down the house to get all of it out. I can honestly say that was really the ONLY pain I felt during the whole ordeal.

Mine pains have finally lightened up(I hope). I feel good! I am up to walking a mile since surgery. I guess that is good since I'm only 8 days out from surgery. I'm a little bummed out though. I haven't lost ANY weight in the last 2 days! I don't know what to do. I'm only taking in aprox. 400 calories. Maybe I'm not giving it enough time. Idk... BOMBSHELLY77 5 Posted April 16, 2012 Jen, I was sleeved 4/4 and have lost 8lbs. I was really frustrated-as my cal intake has been around 400per day as well. My nut said that my body is in starvation mode and I actually need more Protein and calories. Hopefully week 2 or 3 I will get my BIG #. We should just relax a little and learn how to use our new tools! Are you getting in your 64 oz Water every day? That has been difficult for me due to nausea. I Made It 11 Posted April 16, 2012 Jen, It's okay to get on the scale everyday out of curiousity. But measure your weightloss based on a specific day of the week. For me, it's Wednesdays because I had my surgery on a Wednesday, and I document Wednesday as my weigh in day. Don't get discouraged if you don't lose any day-to-day - look at it week to week.... I'm happy for you and it's only the beginning of a great journey! Be patient, it will happen! 1 jiggyjen1982@yahoo.com reacted to this
TrumpetTinklers 196 Posted April 16, 2012 Gas pains are GONE I've lost 12.6 lbs since surgery, however, 11.7 have been in the 1st week - my body is in starvation mode I'm guessing. Post op appt tomorrow!! How are you ladies doing? http://stillmadyouonlylostonepound.blogspot.com/
