Ok so I've been reading how nasty most of the flavors for Isopure are. My dr office recommended I use that(starting pre op liquid diet next week) but I was just wondering are there are any tolerable flavors worth trying. ?

My faves ate the ones that leave the least amount of aftertaste FOR ME. Those are the pineapple banana orange and the alpine punch. Those flavors are not liked by everyone, but they are the best FOR ME. Good luck! Leah (down 79 lbs since Oct 11)

I like the Grape Frost but not the Alpine punch. The Alpine upsets my stomach. I didn't like the green one either. I think it's apple something but, I know someone else posted on here they did like it. So, it's definitely a very individual thing. In the hospital they gave me a 8 oz bottle. I ordered several 6 packs online in that size. They're a perfect portion. 60 cals and 15 g of Protein.

You can get the large bottles at GNC and try them the different flavors.

I tried the peach one from GNC and I could barely get it to my lips to taste it because the smell was so bad. No one in my entire household would drink it, and I havent bought another one since :(

I guess ill have to go down to GNC or Vitamin Shoppe and get some samples. I wanted to go to costco and get premier shakes but the doctors office said "it doesnt matter what u use.. there is Isopure people use"..no help at all so im going by that ..just no chocolate or vanilla flavors for whatever reason?..if there's any other shake suggestions please let me know

I got the Syntrax nectar Roadside Lemonade mix. Once you mix it with Water (it does foam) you need to let it settle or pour it into another glass. I wonder why you can't do chocolate? I do the premier shakes for work as they are easy to transport and I do nectar at home. We have a place called Manna. It is a local shop and they mixed the different flavors of Nectar up for me to try. Most of my friends swore by the fuzzy navel. I hated it. LOL Taste is such an individual thing. Syntrax also now has Nectar Naturals with no artificial colors, sweetners, or flavors. There is fruit punch, peach and orange I think. I have not tried them yet, so I have no idea what they taste like, but if food dyes are a problem, they might be an answer for you.

I do know that unjury has a sample box you can buy at their on-line store for 21.00 - I think that is what I paid and I also think that Nectar has one as well, so maybe that is the way to go to get some variety and give them a try. You should be able to have chocolate after your surgery. Just a thought. I am allowed to have propel and fruit 2O Water as well so that has helped me out. Not in the Protein dept., but just in getting fluids in. Best of luck on your "hunt".

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
