I finally got the guts to make my first youtube video, I kept putting it off because I did not want to see myself in camera. Let me know what you think!

The only critique I have is that you stop and say "um" too much. :) I've considered making a YouTube video but I'd probably keep it for my family only. not sure I want to put my face on the public forum just yet... :)

Nice job! :)

Thanks for that! I was super nervous LOL.... I decided to post it in hopes it will help other people the way that other peoples videos have helped me. Also part of me wants to be accountable to others, since obviously (because of my past failures) I am not good at being accountable just to myself. Making it for yourself is also a good idea.

Hi! I think it is awesome that you are making youtube videos to keep yourself accountable!! I am also making videos but they are just for myself for now. I may put them up sometime. What is your screen name on youtube? is it the same as your name here? I'd love to follow you through your journey! :)

Commited2Change, I love your nick name! I am also committed (I hope I don't end up committed somewhere else LOL).... My name on youtube is beautyvgsjourney (note is VGS not VSG). Let me know if you decide to share your journey, its a very personal journey but I am using it in a way that will hopefully keep me accountable and hopefully will help others in the future. Thank you for your encouragement!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
