Hey all, happy easter! I'm going to ask my doctor about this too but i wanted to see if anyone else has had this before surgery.

I went to the doc a couple weeks ago and it was a clinic...because of my BMI (41 i think) she COULDN'T give me pills. and she said the

depo shot would cause weight gain so b/c of the sleeve and all she didn't want to do that. I'm getting sleeved in august and I wont let

my boyfriend even touch me lol. I'm so scared that im going to get pregnant either before the surgery and not be able to have the surg

or right after the surgery and never reach my goal . So i was thinking about getting the arm implant. The only problem is ...I would have

to get it before surgery (for reasons i'd rather not go into......) Would this be okay for surgery? Has anyone had this???

Thanks in advance!! Happy easter!

The implant uses the same hormones as Depo, so if you GYNO was cautious about Depo she probably would be about the implant too.

Also, I lost weight on Depo. I have been taking it for over three years and the first year lost about 30 pounds while hitting the gym. I got hurt and stopped and then began grazing again and gained it all back.

The point is, Depo makes you crave glucose, sucrose and fructose -- but it is YOU that eats it or doesn't. So you can gain or lose or not change at all on it :)

The use the nuva ring which I love cause I would always forget to take my pill . You should look into that option !

I had a mirena in before surgery and for the first 3 months post-op. The implanon uses the same hormones, and should be okay. But definitely check with your surgeon.
