Protein while we recover from surgery and beyond.

"As soon as you drop below your ideal weight, you get into a group of people who are malnourished," and not well in general, de la Cruz-Munoz said. People in this population may not have adequate levels of protein in their bodies to properly heal in areas that have been operated on, he said"

This is why the better surgeons tend to target the upper end of the BMI range for their patients, noting from experience that those patients have better reserves to fight illness and stay healthy long term. Combine that with the matter that most of us will be able to lose another ten pounds or so of excess skin (whether we choose to do so or not) and there is good reason not to go too far on our goals. There has been other work showing that the overly lean do not have as high of a life expectancy as those who are in the middle of the normal range.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
