ChristineS NY 44 Posted April 8, 2012 I went to the seminar this past week and while some of my surgeons patients talked to us about the procedure of the sleeve, they all mentioned that our surgeon double stapples the stomache when he closes up the new pouch as an extra precaution. My question is, is this customary? Do all surgeons do this or is this something extra? I am so worried about having post complications.
cassieh 136 Posted April 8, 2012 My surgeon doubled me up. This is just to be extra safe as far as leaks go. Lots of surgeons do it. Youll be fine. Good luck 1 ChristineS NY reacted to this
Ssilian 67 Posted April 8, 2012 I just had my first meeting with my surgeon and he says he "over-sews". I believe its the same thing as double stapling. Its just a precaution to prevent leaks. 1 ChristineS NY reacted to this
