All My Weight Is In My Legs And Butt

Recommended Posts

Question for anyone with similar issues. I had Lipo a long time ago on my stomach area so i never gained weight there but i did gain weight in my upper legs and butt. All my weight is there. Question....after weight loss...do upper legs and butt get saggy also? Sorry if it is a dumb question..i just want to be prepared.

Yes, they definitely do. I'm a "pear" who previously lost 175+ lbs with a lapband. My buttcheeks were sagging onto the backs of my thighs. I didn't have droopy knees, but back of my thighs were a mess.

Congratulations on the weight loss. That is great!!! So proud of you. I have about 60 to 80 pounds to loose...so maybe i should start exercising those areas to build muscle.

Lunges and the bike will help those areas :)

Yeah, a little bit. I carry my weight in my inner thighs and right under my butt, it's kind of annoying. I still have some fat there, but part of it is definitely loose skin. It kind of sucks, because I decided to improve my diet in hopes of getting rid of some of that, but since I know some of it is loose skin, I'm aware that no matter how well I eat and how much I exercise, it still won't look the way I'd like it to look. But yes, building up muscle in that area will help somewhat. Last year when I got down to my lowest weight (136), my butt was remarkably flat and totally saggy, and it even hurt to sit! I've been doing Crossfit since and have built up my butt a LOT. I found some old profile pix from last year the other day, so I took some new ones, and I can see the difference. You can see I had so much loose skin last summer that there was an actual skin fold under my underwear! Not to mention, my butt actually kind of sticks out now, instead of there being a straight line from the back of my head down to my heels....lol. I look forward to seeing what it'll look like a year from now.

Blackberryjuice thank you. You are awesome. Thanks for sharing those pictures. I can't wait to look like that. I can see the improvement in the pictures.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
