Shellz5302 0 Posted April 7, 2012 Recently I have found some joy in drinking tea. I have read lots of healthy info on black/green/ and white teas. I went to a store about a hour from where I live that sells lots of spices and teas. I was so excited I bought a tea pot and strainer spoon and several flavors of tea. I was in my little tea heaven. I drank about 16 oz in about a hour period and started to not feel well. I was a little scared because I have never felt like this before. I thought I was going to throw up. I ran to the bathroom and put a cold wash cloth on my head and started to feel a little better so I went to sit down and think about what was making me feel so horrible. Then I noticed my fingers and toes were taping, my heart was racing and that is when it came to me... I was on a caffeine high. I called the place where I bought the tea and they confirmed there was caffeine in the tea. Tea dreams crushed. I guess it did not occur to me when I purchased the tea because all the Celestial teas I have bought from the store are caffeine free. So all of you tea lovers... beware! lyn 5 Posted April 7, 2012 sorry to hear that you cannot tolerate the teas. I am able to have a cup of tea without any trouble. I used to be quite a coffee drinker but since my surgery I cannot even stomach the smell of coffee. It just turns my stomach and I almost get sick from the smell alone, very crazy. I know they said things change with us after surgery but who knew coffee and tea would be so strong. I hope youo can find a tea that tolerate since it really seems to quench my sweet tooth, yes it is still there. Good luck to you and thank you for sharing your story and symptons I'll bet other people have had the same trouble and didn't know what was happening to them. Shellz5302 0 Posted April 7, 2012 I can have caffeine free tea but I have to be careful when I go to a restaurant to order tea because most of the time the waitress don't know if it is caffeine free or not. I have had a similar reaction when I have had too much sugar (yes mine is still there too). Not that I am consuming that much to begin with but my body tells me when I am over doing it for sure!
