Sharonimo 1 Posted April 7, 2012 Hi sleevers! I'm 43 years old and after more than 25 years being obese I finally found a doctor willing to refer me for bariatric surgery back in January 2011. Now after almost 16 months on the NHS conveyor belt (National Health Service) I am 10 days away from surgery -- woop woop !!! Was originally referred for RNY bypass but after months and months of research I decided against it and to go for the sleeve instead. I already have: Type 2 diabetes, high BP, osteo-arthritis (knees and hips), mild sleep apnoea, chronic rhinitis, asthma .... and a para-umbilical stomach hernia (!!) With that bundle of co-morbidities I would normally be a prime candidate for the RNY, but I am so convinced that the sleeve is the op of the future. Would love to hear from any "sleeve sisters" being sleeved on April 17 or close to that date. Thanks, Sharon

RMS 64 Posted May 6, 2012 Surgery went great. I am down 39 pounds since surgery and 32 from the pre-op diet. I have had no complications. How are you doing? Sent from my iPhone using VST
Felicity549 47 Posted May 7, 2012 Whoa! Your weight loss is awesome!! I lost 15 pre-op and another 15 so far post-op. Im steadily losing about a pound per day. Surgery was great, too... no complications. I am having heartburn after everything I eat but that's my only complaint. I think I need to try out a new acid reducer. Congrats - you're doing so great.
