I tell you I'm getting pretty nervous but anxious. I was wondering how to take the Protein on the plane. Anyone have suggestions?

I was sleeved by Dr. Kelly and I brought Protein packets that I purchased from powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. Ironically it turned out that I didn't need them. When you are getting sleeved by Dr. Kelly you can't have Protein until your tenth day PostOp. Find out from your doctor if you will need them.

Today is my 10th day so I am starting with the protein.

No Protein until day 10? That's strange. Not even Isopure? Does he just want you to focus on Water?

Clear Liquids. I think it designed to give the stomach time to heal.

I was sleeved by Dr Kelly and I started on Protein as soon as I got home. Do not worry about it the first few days! When I got home I would make the unjury chicken broth (21 gr pro) a couple of times a day instead of regular chicken broth. I really think it helped me avoid that weak, light headed feeling. I also mixed the unflavored into crystal light to sip on during the day. Both are still clear liquids.

Thanks for posting that DDFinn. I was wondering about that! I didn't want Mrsteacher to miss out on Protein if she could get it in...

Weird. I wasn't feeling light headed at all without the Protein. I am getting it in at least 3x a day now (morning, lunch, dinner). Looking forward to the mushy stage at day 20.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
